Project Overview
Compact Underfloor Heating designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned a full hydronic underfloor heating system for this new centre which provides 80 acute mental health en-suite bedrooms including six psychiatric intensive care beds and administration facilities, all arranged across five inter-connected low-rise buildings.
This building provided a bespoke challenge to maintaining comfortable room temperatures whilst dealing with high levels of periodic heat loss due to frequent and prolonged period of multiple external doors being open, this is a direct result of the innovative design which sees all wards arranged as rooms around a garden with bedrooms on three sides and social facilities on the other with a focus on moving through gardens rather than corridors.
Full integrated heating controls and rapid warmup times were integrated within the design and building zones designated to maximise the fluidity of temperature control between adjacent areas dependent on fluctuating requirement.
