Project Overview
Compact Underfloor Heating designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned a hydronic underfloor heating and Air Source Heat Pump solution to provide space heating provision for public areas and lecture theatres within Southern Regional College’s 8,200 m2 Erne campus in Enniskillen.
This flagship site provides over 2,800 students with access to an ultra-modern learning environment with modern teaching space, extensive resource centre, an array of science labs, computer and media suites and breakout areas to support STEM education, along with industry standard commercial training kitchens and high specification hairdressing salons which have been designed to ensure students are industry-ready when they complete their qualifications
The design and deployment of a highly efficient and fully integrated underfloor heating system coupled with a low temperature renewable heat source facilitated this state-of-the-art new build in becoming the largest building with Passive House Premium rating, and world’s first educational building to achieve this rating.
Our in-house design team successfully developed a project specific floor underfloor heating solution comprising Compact Commercial Manifolds and Compact 16mm Hydronic Pipe, closely coordinating with key project stakeholders at every stage to ensure all designs were compliant with BREEAM requirements.
On-site installation was completed in stages to accommodate the main contractor build programme with all materials delivered with ‘just in time’ coordination by our project manager to minimise onsite storage requirement.
